the calm before the storm, about 11am on Saturday 22nd March 2014
I must have been rather distracted for the next 30 hours, because there appears to be no photos!
Summary: At the time is was long and difficult... looking back it doesn't seem so bad, and we both actually got 3-4 hours sleep during the saturday night.
Jacki was induced at 10am sunday and florence was born at 313pm.
Her very first drink, about 10 minutes after she was born.
Interestingly, she opened her eyes and had a look around while only half way out, this apparently is rather uncommon as both our midwife Theresa and the doctor expressed something between shock and delight at the time and started talking to florence! The moment her head was out I knew both my girls would be ok and I burst into tears (in fact just writing this makes me well-up) and then Jacki I both spent some time crying in happiness while holding florence for the first time.
A first she was rather perfect, and it was interesting to watch her 'workout' all of jacki's hormones via her skin (little red marks) over the next 24hours
On day two she had her first blood test and passed with flying colours... well maybe a little more yellow than the rest of the rainbow).
Florence gets her very first visitor (Michael R) who also proved a very capable taxi driver.
It a zoo in here!
Our wonderful midwife and friend, Theresa.
